Apple Making The Money

Apple is making a lot of money and it is the iPhone that seems to be the money spinner for them. Apple is pulling a fat some for every iPhone activation on AT&T. According to the NY Times, AT&T may be paying Apple as much as $18 a month for each iPhone currently running on its network. This amounts to $432 over the course of a 2-year contract, which is a pretty sizeable amount. Combined with the $399 price tag of the 8 GB iPhone itself, this gives Apple a total of $831 for each iPhone that it sells. Now talk about revenue, this is something amazing. Apple Keeps Refusing

Apple is not refusing to accept cash for an iPhone. They are enough to extend the policy out to no cash for anything that could in turn purchase an iPhone. that's not all, you can't even use your Apple bucks to buy an iPhone anymore, not even if someone bought you an Apple Gift Card with their credit card.This seems to bbe one huge stumbling block for all teenage Apple fanboys begging various family members for small denomination gift cards that will add up to the iPhone they've been after. Navizon With iPhone

There is now something new for the iPhone.The third-party native iPhone application that provides pseudo-GPS for the Apple’s handset users called Navizon, has been upgraded and now works with firmware versions 1.0.2 and 1.1.1. The new version of Navizon adds Buddy Finder functionality, allowing iPhone users to add their friends to Buddy list and then see where they are on a map. All that you need to add a friend is that you enter your and your friend’s email address and things are done from there. The repeated demands for anthird party applications on the iPhone. Apple now plans to have an SDK in the developers' hands in February SDK and that's what Steve Jobs has apparently said. iPhone Is Eco-Friendly

In a recent reply to a report filed by Greenpeace, Apple has claimed that the iPhone is meets the restrictions placed on hazardous substances. Like all Apple products worldwide, iPhone complies with RoHS [Restriction of Hazardous Substances], the world’s toughest restrictions on toxic substances in electronics,” an Apple spokesperson has said. Apple plans to completely eliminate the use of PVC and BFRs in its products by the end of 2008. There are also plans to eliminate or reduce the use of other chemicals including Arsenic and Mercury. More iPhone Like Products

Handset makers are now on the warpath. They are all in a process of making more and more iPhone like products. The Chinese are once again in the forefront withTaiwan-based handset makers such as Asustek Computer, BenQ, Compal Communications and Arima Communications developing such products. These will be available in the market early next year and will adopt the Windows Mobile platform, targeting business markets, and have features such as GPS and 3G. Apart from Taiwan-based players, international makers such as Nokia, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics are also likely enter the fray and roll out iPhone-like handsets next year. Apple Launches iPhone Directory

Apple has launched a new iPhone Web Applications directory of more than 200 Web applications built to run in the iPhone's Safari browser. The applications are organized in categories such as the most recent viewed, most popular, alphabetical and staff picks. There are also games, movie tickets booking and mobile dictionaries. The directory provides a URL for each of the applications to access the service. Chief Executive Steve Jobs says that the Web applications are built using Web 2.0 technologies such as Ajax and would behave like native applications on the iPhone. iPhone In Legal Battle

Looks like the iPhone is in for some legal problems. In a recent development. Lawyers have gone ahead and filed a class action lawsuit against Apple and AT&T seeking $1.2 billion in damages because the iPhone is locked to AT&T’s wireless network. The suit also notes that Apple will not allow unauthorized applications on the iPhone. The suit has been filed on behalf of Paul Holman in the State of Washington and Lucy Rivello in California and it explains that in the United States the SIM chip is locked to the wireless carrier, not the hardware device. iPhone For Christmas In Canada

It's time to deck the halls with holly and start wrapping the gifts for it's Christmas time. Well, not for many but is Canada the Christmas fever has gone up with the iPhone which has been ranked as the 8th most wanted Christmas gift in the country. In a recent survey conducted by Solutions Research Group revealed that 1000 Canadians wanted the iPhone which isn't technically available in Canada. It was discovered that within the HTML code for the feedback form is a hidden variable called "product" which contains something called iPhone Extreme. This is now lead to new buzz in the mobile world and speculations about this new sighting is now on full time. Reports of iPhones being bricked are now surfacing. Apple released a statement recently that issued a warning saying that the next iPhone update would brick any iPhones that had been unlocked, and that it could also brick those that had third-party applications in them. Get GPS On iPhone

Now you can never get lost especially if you have your iPhone with you. Apple will be releasing a new 3G version of the iPhone in 2008 that will also incorporate GPS Sat-Nav. The current iPhone already has Google Maps built-into it, but has no GPS module, so you have to manually type in where you are and where you want to go.You also can't use the iPhone as a Sat-Nav, as it doesn't actually know where it is unless you tell it, that's where the hitch is.
