Apple Launches iPhone Directory

iPhone New F4.jpg Apple has launched a new iPhone Web Applications directory of more than 200 Web applications built to run in the iPhone's Safari browser. The applications are organized in categories such as the most recent viewed, most popular, alphabetical and staff picks. There are also games, movie tickets booking and mobile dictionaries. The directory provides a URL for each of the applications to access the service. Chief Executive Steve Jobs says that the Web applications are built using Web 2.0 technologies such as Ajax and would behave like native applications on the iPhone. The Ajax applications built for the iPhone would run in a sandbox separate from the device's operating system to keep hackers out.
