Apple is making a lot of money and it is the iPhone that seems to be the money spinner for them. Apple is pulling a fat some for every iPhone activation on AT&T. According to the NY Times, AT&T may be paying Apple as much as $18 a month for each iPhone currently running on its network. This amounts to $432 over the course of a 2-year contract, which is a pretty sizeable amount. Combined with the $399 price tag of the 8 GB iPhone itself, this gives Apple a total of $831 for each iPhone that it sells. Now talk about revenue, this is something amazing. Of course all the any manufacturing costs or incidentals are not included in this but we still know what Apple is getting.
