Handset makers are now on the warpath. They are all in a process of making more and more iPhone like products. The Chinese are once again in the forefront withTaiwan-based handset makers such as Asustek Computer, BenQ, Compal Communications and Arima Communications developing such products. These will be available in the market early next year and will adopt the Windows Mobile platform, targeting business markets, and have features such as GPS and 3G. Apart from Taiwan-based players, international makers such as Nokia, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics are also likely enter the fray and roll out iPhone-like handsets next year. Samsung's new product will adopt Microsoft or Symbian-based platforms while a Nokia product, which is set to hit the market in the first half of 2008, will be Symbian-based. Looks like the race has just begun.
