In a recent development, Google is in the process of pitching its vaunted Gphone to Verizon Wireless. According to recent reports, Google is in serious discussions with Verizon Wireless to put its mobile "GPhone" software on Verizon phones. This puts an end to the endless speculations doing the rounds in which people were believing that it is not a phone but somewhat like an operating system or a software that integrates many of Google's mobile services, like Web search, Gmail, Youtube, and Google Maps, onto phones. Mobile Subscription Not Happening

The Subscription music business was to pick up with mobile phones entering the lives of more and more people. But this has not exactly happened as U.S. operators are still focused on selling individual tracks over the air on an a la carte basis only. The recently launched AT&T's Napster Mobile-branded full-song, over-the-air download service has Napster which is first and foremost subscription music service but its wireless extension is not. Skype Phone On 3

Skype is expected to sell service provider 3's first mobile phone, a deal on this should be finalized soon. Skype plans to introduce the phone in the countries where 3 operates, the source said but there is no timeframe or anything said about where the phone would be sold first. Skype spokesman Chaim Haas confirmed that 3 and Skype are working together on a new product to make Skype completely mobile. More details on this are expected from Skype in the last week of October. Napster On Your Phone

Now the music will not stop. AT&T will now deliver Napster songs directly to your phones. AT&T would offer wireless song downloads from Napster Inc's digital music service. AT&T, which already lets Napster subscribers transfer music from their personal computer to their cell phone via a cable or a storage card, said it would sell Napster music directly on its phones for $7.49 for a bundle of five songs, or $1.99 for a la carte purchases.
