Motrola spirals downwards
These days it is necessary for a mobile phone to be trendy and hip and the envy of one's friends to be a hit in the Market. While Motorola was able to acheive this 2 years back with the introduction of Razr, it has sadly been unable to maintain that top spot now. This is apparent rom the fact that 3.500 employees have been sacked, along with it's stock falling a whopping 30%. Maybe, being too popular was not such a good for the Razr. Who wants a phone that every second person is carrying?
Nobody's going to burn a hole in their pocket for a phone that is so last year. But there's no point crying over the profit that's lost. What is to be done is to be that coveted model again. Pebl, Slvr and the like have not exactly been stars in the market, and hence, Motorola's search continues. Then they came up with Krzr which is loaded with many features, but unfortunately has the curse of resembling the Razr far too much. That design is out, and building on it is just not going to cut it. It's not features style conscious people go for, it's the look. Get a fresh new look, and you're back in business.
