Not A Notebook- It's The Palm Foleo

palm-foleo-1.jpgOne look and it would look like a notebook to you. But then look carefully, it is the new Palm Foleo a mobile phone close on heels to the Nokia N800 and 770. It is actually a Linux based computer which has Bluetooth and WiFi connections. Unlike the Nokia counterparts, the Palm Foleo integrates tightly with either a PalmOS-based Palm smartphone, or a Windows-based one. The Palm Foleo has been designed to work in sync with a smartphone. It can also be easily synced with Blueberry and Symbian devices and even the Apple iPhone if the right software is available. The Palm Foleo work with Microsoft Office documents, PDF files and access the smartphone's email and calendar appointments. Everything you can do on your smartphone you should be able to do on the Palm Foleo. Its features include a 10" 1024x600 pixel display, a QWERTY keyboard, WiFi and Bluetooth and it weighs around 1100 grams (2.5 pounds). It does not have an internal hard drive and storage requires CF and SD memory cards. Battery life is quoted at 5 hours, and it also has an instant on/off function too.

What's more, the Foleo has a built-in Opera web browser and the handset's WiFi functionality and flexible operating system can make the Foleo an ultraportable computer in it's own right. What else do you need. However its price is a little bit steep. It costs around $500 and should be available in the US very soon.
