This is big news and we hope it is true. After the success of its Cyber Shot and Walkman series, Sony Ericsson might be planning a device based around gaming functions and this is the latest buzz that has been circulating around for years. There is a speculation that the company is working on a PlayStation-branded phone. But we now have news that the new device will not be PlayStation branded and should be out in February next year. the phone will offer a games-oriented user interface and styling that will comprise technical innovations such as motion-sensitivity, which will pave the way for Wii-like gameplay on a handset.

We had mentioned earlier about a simple mobile phone from Sony Ericsson in which the screen can be turned around 180 degrees and your menu/functional keys are transformed into game controls and you have a perfectly good portable gaming device. We hope that the upcoming gadget should be something similar to this.
